Textile gasket

The gasket has a knit, tubular body, constructed, at least in part, from non-metallic, heat-resistant yarns. It also may include metallic yarn. Labyrinth shroud seal for a steam turbine
Applicant: A.S. Lisyanskiy, Russia A labyrinth seal is described that has a honeycomb feature fitted within the stationary sections of the labyrinth teeth. The honeycomb block bodies are made of a ductile alloy steel and have a V-shaped cross-section. Specific dimensions make it possible to insert the honeycomb block bodies into the V-shaped groove of a steam-turbine stator, with a minimum gap. These bodies are made up so that they are flat in the longitudinal section. The resilience of the seal enables it to be fitted and retained in the groove. Sliding ring
Applicant: Surcoatec International Ag, Germany This patent describes a series of features that can be included within the grooves of positive lift seal faces. Illustrations show features within T-slots but others, such as helical grooves, are also mentioned. The features include a venturi constriction at the entrance to the slot, steps or waves in the base of the slot, double helical steps and what is described as “butterfly lasering”. Depressions are made in the gasket, in an arc around a proportion of the bolt-hole circumference. It is designed in such a way that by simply fitting the end of a connecting pipe into the joint, and manually tightening the cap, it is possible to connect pipes so that they cannot be disconnected, and such that the pipe does not rotate while the cap is screwed on. Sealing is achieved on the pipe’s inside diameter by an inner core insert that is screwed into the joint body. Each pipe is retained by two grip rings.
